Quickie Track Review: Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz - Dooo It!

Listen to the track here

Overview: A weird mix of Flaming Lips-style production and Miley's pop-rap sensibilities, Dooo It! is just on the edge of working. 2.5/5

Full Review:
After hinting at it for months, the collab between Miley Cyrus and The Flaming Lips has finally arrived, and its lead single, "Dooo It!", is at the center of the 23 track (really?) album. As if her actions over the past couple of years haven't told us otherwise, Ms. Cyrus is obsessed with breaking her child-friendly image. On this track, her constant references to pot (and weed and being high because of course)  and f-bomb dropping are most of the lyrical content. The trap backbone just feels awkward, only really making sense once the ambient landscape comes into play about 20 seconds in. Miley's vocals aren't that bad, but there is absolutely a sense that the vocals were done in only a few takes; her voice gets raspy around the chorus. At least, if you can even identify a chorus, considering the song has little to no structure. Makes sense, at least, considering the constant cry of "I don't give a f**k."
